A former law librarian, the attention to detail is second nature to Nancy. After 18 years in the libraries of two of Oakland’s largest firms, Nancy wanted something completely different and went to barber school.
She is the only lady barber in Oakland offering the traditional hot-lather, straight-razor shave, and her passion is men’s grooming. Still a reader, monthly cover to cover analysis of GQ and Men’s Vogue keeps her eye on the edge of men’s fashion and grooming.
But wait, there’s more. Nancy learned from industry mentors the secrets of cutting curly hair and has a devoted following of curly haired clients. Paradoxically, she loves working with baby-fine straight hair as well.
Waxing is another talent of Nancy’s. For now she is limited to facial waxing, but that includes, in alphabetical order, brows, cheeks, chins, ears, lips and neck. And because of the high quality, European hard wax used, waxing is nearly painless. Really!
